The Process
The process of ordering a backdrop from us is a collaboration.
STEP 1 |
You will start with a consultation with Becky on the phone. She will talk with you about your vision for coloring, style, value and texture. Photographs, inspiration, pantone colors or any other samples that you can provide are absolutely helpful and highly encouraged. It helps her to understand exactly what you are needing.
STEP 2 |
Your custom order goes into production.
STEP 3 |
Receive an image of your final custom muslin backdrop texted right to your phone.
STEP 4 |
Your order ships.

The Process
The process of ordering a backdrop from us is a collaboration.
STEP 1 |
Select the hand-painted muslin product, choose your backdrop size and packaging, add it to your cart, and complete the checkout process. Once finished, you will be prompted to schedule a 15 minute time window for a phone call with Becky to discuss your custom backdrop.
STEP 2 |
At your scheduled day and time, Becky will call you to discuss your vision for the coloring, style, value and texture of your custom backdrop. Photographs, inspiration, pantone colors or any other samples that you can provide are absolutely helpful and highly encouraged. It helps her to understand exactly what you are needing.
STEP 3 |
Your custom order goes into production. The turnaround time for custom hand-painted backdrops is 2 weeks from your scheduled call.
STEP 4 |
You will receive an image of your new custom backdrop via phone or email, and then it will be shipped out.

"In 2001, I moved to Illinois after finishing art school on the east coast and having my first child. Fate led me to landing a job painting with Les Brandt Backgrounds. I was mentored on design and what a photographer needs out of a backdrop, and I fell in love with painting large. When they retired, I went out on my own and Intuition was born. It's a beautiful long story of starting from scratch - the struggles and joys that created the energy and personality of this company. The very best part of it all is that I get to bring your visions to life and help your beautiful artwork stand out. For that, I am very grateful."

WHAT CAN I EXpecT WHEN ORDERING?
When you check out, you will fill out a form and choose a day/time for Becky to call you. During that call you will get to relay the colors, style, value and texture that you are needing.
HOW DO I CARE FOR MUSLIN BACKDROPS?
We recommend rolling your muslin drops up on the tube that they are sent on and storing upright.
- You can also just crunch them up for storage.
- We do not recommend that you fold them, although you can. It will make symmetrical crease lines that are harder to get rid of.
- Avoid dragging on painted side
- Use caution with heels
HOW DO I HANG MUSLIN BACKDROPS?
Muslin is very easy going and very simple to hang. You can hang your background with clamps or magnets.
- Do not use staples. The staples will create holes that will eventually tear.
how do i store Muslin Backdrops?
Your backdrop will be shipped to you either rolled up or pressed in a box. The choice is yours!
- If you choose rolled, we suggest to roll it back up, design side in, on the tube provided and store upright. This ensures a smoother unrolling for you and will protect the painted side from dust, etc.
- If you choose in a box, you can crunch your muslin up and return it to its box, or any other storage solution that you have. totes and containers do a good job keeping it out of the way and keeping it clean for you.
WHAT IS THE TURNAROUND TIME?
Within 2 weeks, your backdrop will be on its way to you. Oftentimes it will be before then, but we like to keep a time buffer just in case of high order volume. Becky will stay in touch with you and let you know when it is heading out.
What's the difference in the packaging options?
When ordering your custom backdrop, you can choose between two packaging options: pressed into a box or rolled on a core.
Pressed into a box: Your backdrop will arrive pressed tight into a box. This gives the drop a more organic, wrinkled effect. You can easily steam your backdrop to smooth it if needed. This packaging choice provides a lower-cost shipping solution.
*We do not fold our muslin backgrounds because the symmetrical lines are harder to get out.
Rolled onto a core: This option is great if you want your backdrop delivered more smooth. It will be ready to hang upon delivery. You can also use the tube to roll the backdrop back up after use for a perfect storage option!
Can I return or cancel my order?
Since each backdrop is custom-made and hand-painted to order, we do not accept cancellations, returns, or refunds.
